Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Course

Register to this six-week course designed to help you and your child (ages 7-11) learn and practice the essential skills of mindfulness and self-compassion as a family.

Classes start on September 11, 2025

Entire Course has a value of $300.
All fees are waived, but suggested donation to ACM: $20+ per week

In addition, the course requires the purchase of the Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Workbook, that can be purchased on Amazon

Backed by extensive research, self-compassion has been shown to improve emotional well-being, enhance coping skills, and lead to more fulfilling relationships while reducing anxiety and depression. Additionally, studies on this particular training specifically show a boost in the well-being of both parents and children (see study). 

Endorsed by the original Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program creators, Christopher Germer, Ph.D. and Kristin Neff, Ph.D., this program is a Center for Mindful Self-Compassion-approved adaptation of the adult training.

In this course, you and your child will learn (and have fun at the same time)

  • Cope with difficult emotions

  • Strategies for self-soothing

  • Practice mindfulness

  • Feel less alone in struggles

  • Strengthen resilience and positivity

  • Increase connection with one another

  • Encourage yourselves with kindness

Each session is one hour in duration.

Mindfulness y Autocompasión para Padres e Hijos

Este divertido entrenamiento puede ayudar a padres y cuidadores con niños/as de 8 a 11 años a desarrollar y practicar la autocompasión juntos. 

¿Cómo puede Mindfulness y Autocompasión ayudarme a mí y a mis hijos?

Mindfulness nos ayuda a dar cuenta de cómo nos sentimos en el momento y poder manejar las emociones sin estar agobiado. La autocompasión nos ayuda a sentirnos mejor cuando pasamos por momentos difíciles y a sentir que no estamos solos.

El curso se dará proximamente en vivo y en línea y tiene una duración de seis semanas. Cada sesión es de una hora.
